Since 1961, more than 200,000 men and women have served as Peace Corps Volunteers or staff members. Later they became doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, accountants, entrepreneurs, engineers, architects, software designers, social workers and experts in dozens of other fields.
These people represent a vast, untapped resource. They still want to make a difference, are searching for practical ways to do so -- and have a unique combination of cross-cultural sensitivity, professional skills and a lifelong passion for service.
Encore taps into this extraordinary resource
by sending former Peace Corps Volunteers, former Peace Corps staff, and others with similar overseas experience, back
into the field on short-term assignments (typically three to six months) that match their professional expertise with specific social needs.
