How to become a Encore volunteer

Any person who has been a Peace Corps Volunteer or staff member is eligible to become a Encore volunteer.

Important! If you've already completed an information form for us, please LOG IN by entering your email and password at left -- and you'll be able to review and edit your information.

Step one: Joining the Encore talent pool

Please complete and submit part one of our registration form. The completed form should be transmitted electronically if at all possible but can also be sent to us by regular mail. Any information you provide electronically is completely secured in transmission by SSL. Encore will not sell or distribute any of the data you supply. It will only be used by Encore to match your professional expertise with appropriate volunteer opportunities. Encore may also list your name and current/past affiliations in the grant proposals it submits to potential funders.

In part one of the form, you will create a password to enter the Encore web site. After completing part one, you will receive an email from us acknowledging receipt and asking you to log in to the web site with your new password to complete part two, which contains details that will enable us to better match your professional expertise with suitable volunteer opportunities.

Completion of both parts will conclude the enrollment process.

Step two: Signing on for a specific volunteer assignment

Encore will notify you whenever a volunteer opportunity becomes available that fits your qualifications. We will provide a precise description of the assignment, the hosting organization(s) and the time period involved.

If you indicate an interest, we will schedule a teleconference to describe the opportunity in greater detail and answer any questions you might have. We will also need to have brief conversations with some of the individuals who know you best (both personally and professionally).

We will do our best to confirm your assignment in a timely fashion, usually within 30 days. Please understand we will often have more applicants than we need and that becoming a member of our talent pool does not guarantee placement as a Encore volunteer. If you are not matched to a specific assignment, we will do our best to find you another one as soon as possible.
